Escape Room Sequence
This booklet is the end result of a semester-long project to design an escape room. We each had to propose our own themes for each of our rooms and design layouts and concept art around these themes. All of our documentation was put into these booklets and was presented to the class at the end of the semester.
I choose A museum heist theme, where the players have to “steal” as many art pieces as possible by solving the puzzles connected to each of the art pieces. No actual art would be stolen, the players would get little cards in place of the art once the puzzle was solved. There would also be puzzles to open the doors to the security room in order to achieve the key to successfully breaking out the the museum. This concept allows for players to return to the escape room and solve puzzles they didn’t get time to before (for difference pieces of art), and each art piece stolen would have a different price attached to it, allowing fo players to see how much money they stole in total, and this amount would be kept track of like high scores are in video games. Players can return to try and beat their personal high scores and other’s. Exhibits can also rotate, allowing for new themes and art pieces to be displayed at the escape room.
When I pitched this idea, I thought it would be fun if the escape room was inside of an actual museum as a sort of “immersive experience” for friends and families.
This was my first attempt at a bigger scale project, which is why some of the detailing might seem off, such as the website placeholder listed instead of this portfolio.
