What Conversations Are About In The Now

An Insight Into Now

Know that I’m typing this while having an anxiety attack. Which is related to the meaning of this piece. I’ve been talking to my friends and family about the state of the world in this lovely month of January 2022, and how much Covid has disrupted and uplifted our long and short term plans. For example, I was supposed to study abroad this semester, but as of now I have no idea if my whole trip will be cancelled and by consequence, push me back a semester to graduate. Most of my friends and myself included are having second thoughts about what they thought they wanted for their life in terms of career, family, places to live. Things are changing around us and we are changing with them. And while we mourn the loss of life before Covid and deal with the constant traumatic stress of not knowing the state of the world at any given moment, we’re expected to operate as if none of it is going on. Most of us are simply trying to hold onto the moments that come to us and flicker out instantly, an impossible task but one we are surely determined to attempt.
